Hannah Rose Doherty

is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer based in NYC. She comes from a small town along the Jersey Shore. While exploring the arts, she has noticed the difficulty to find a creative space that matches her vision. Frustrated by the lack of opportunities to bring meaningful, love-based, and fun projects to life, Hannah decided to take matters into her own hands and founded Are We In Love.

Her work shows her passion for storytelling and character development, highlighting her diverse talents in both film and theatre. Whether on stage, on camera, or behind it all, she focuses on making/telling stories that connect with audiences and celebrate the ups and downs of love and human relationships.

Delia Mullen

is a writer and filmmaker from New Jersey, now based in New York City. Her work combines strong storytelling with visual creativity, drawing inspiration from the world around her—whether it's the people she meets, the places she visits, or the emotions she experiences. Delia aims to create work that feels authentic, emotional, and relatable.

Her projects often explore themes of connection, identity, and the small, meaningful moments that shape our lives. Whether through writing or directing, Delia is dedicated to capturing the nuanced feelings that make us human.

Delia joined the Are We In Love team as Head of Film, where she brings her fresh perspective and hands-on approach to every project.

Klara Eales

is an actor, producer and intentional storyteller. Growing up in both the Middle East and South Africa, she has gained rich cross-cultural experience that informs her work. Her creative vision is rooted in bridging divides—culturally and emotionally—by crafting stories that resonate across diverse experiences. At Are We In Love, she leads theatrical projects with a commitment to authenticity, aiming to bring people together in an alienating world. Klara’s feature film, Veld, currently in post-production, exemplifies her dedication to tell the stories that need to be told.

Klara joined the Are We In Love team and is the head theater department.

What We Do

At Are We In Love, we are dedicated to helping young creatives find resources, a fun environment, and a driven community. Our mission is to create, create, and then create even more. We believe in the power of storytelling, particularly stories about love that bridge gaps and foster connection.

In a world that increasingly needs more empathy, we embrace the theme that love is essential. All of our productions center around the idea of love bringing people together. Through our art, we aim to communicate the question, statement, and expression: Are We In Love?

Where does the name come from?

Are We In Love? This phrase started as something Hannah Rose Doherty, the founder, would say everywhere—to friends, at grocery stores, while ordering a bagel, and more. Instead of a simple thank you, you could always count on Hannah to ask, "ARE WE IN LOVE?!?" So when the time came to choose a name for her production company, it was a no-brainer.

Why did this start?

The first rough draft of "Benny" that Hannah wrote sparked it all. Inspired but frustrated by the lack of resources available, she decided to pursue the project herself when she could not find anyone willing to take it on. Through this process, Hannah discovered a love for producing that she had not anticipated. A significant turning point came when she reached out to Delia Mullen. Originally brought on as the director of photography, Delia quickly became a co-director as well.

As they worked together, Hannah and Delia formed a close friendship; the day after wrapping "Benny," they both felt eager to collaborate again. After returning to the city, Hannah was approached by Klara Eales about potentially staging a production of Brilliant Traces. Without hesitation, they jumped right into securing a theater. Brilliant Traces is set to run from December 6-8 at Playhouse 46, and conversations have already begun about a play in spring.

Where do we get the money?

Currently, we do not have a traditional funding source. As young creatives, we often find ourselves working with limited financial resources. We actively fundraise, hustle, and invest in our own projects. Any profits generated are reinvested directly back into our productions. Our goal is to eventually reach a point where Are We In Love can sustain itself through the projects we undertake for funding.
